Effect of Temperature on the Performance of Computer
Hi Friends, As we all know about the season of summer, it’s too hot, If the human will suffer from heat than obvious our electronic device like Computers will also suffer from the heat.
Computers placed in a specific environment to work efficiently in heat, cold, dust and excessive humidity, which decrease the performance of a computer. There is also an External and internal temperature which causes fluctuations on performance. The computer is more vulnerable to heat than to cold.
Overheating
Many Laptop and PC are vulnerable to overheating. Electronic components run on specific current induced by a low voltage. The sensitive components mean that even a small fluctuation in voltage is dangerous. Overheat decreases the electrical resistance of the electronic component, therefore increasing the current. The slowdown is a result of overheating. PC can shut down when overheated and the motherboard temperature sensor instructs hardware such as the hard drive and processor to slow down. This also occurs due to the running of PC for over time and by running high PC application or high-end graphics games.
Cold Temperatures
Cold temperatures are not too dangerous to a computer as compared to overheating , but problems can still occur. If computers get too cold when it shut down, their components can be damaged upon boot because the electricity heats the circuit. As electricity travels through a circuit, it warms rapidly and causes the matter to expand. Rapid expansion, when close to the matter that remains the same size, then it collapses which cause a bend or break components. Therefore, you should let system stored in cold temperatures, heat to room temperature before turning it power ON.
Ideal Operating Temperatures
The ideal operating temperature of a PC ranges from 50 - 82 degrees, which should be as close as possible to room temperature.Laptops should operate between 50 -100 degrees. If the room is too hot, cool air cannot enter in the computer and keep temperatures from rising too high. In cold environment, moisture can cause internal condensation as result damages running electrical components.
Precaution from overheating of Computer
- Clean your PC regularly.
- Maintain airflow from CPU.
- Use of the case fan.
- Don’t remove back case of CPU system unit.
- Move your PC to clean and normal temperature environment.
- Stop overclocking.
- Replace power supply or use good UPS inverter.
- Install water cooling kit.
